About the dates
Eid Al Etihad marks the union of the Emirates on 2 December 1971. The public holiday dates are announced each year.
Islamic months begin with the sighting of the new moon, so these dates come from astronomers' forecasts and can move by a day. The official announcement decides.
The quick-add uses the Ministry of Education calendar for public schools. Many private schools follow different dates, so check yours.
The time left is the difference between now on your phone's clock and the event time. If your phone's clock is wrong, the countdown will be too.
