UAE VAT calculator
Add 5% VAT to a price, or take the VAT out of a price that already includes it.

The two sums
Gross = net × 1.05. A 200 AED price before VAT becomes 210 AED.
Net = gross ÷ 1.05, and VAT = gross − net. Taking 5% off the gross is a common mistake: it gives too much VAT.
Prices shown to shoppers in the UAE should already include VAT. A tax invoice shows the amount before VAT, the VAT and the total.
Some supplies are zero-rated (for example many exports, international transport, some healthcare and education, investment gold) or exempt (for example some financial services, bare land, local passenger transport and residential rent in many cases).
