What does your photo give away?
Most phone photos carry hidden details: the exact spot where they were taken, the time, and the phone you used. Drop a photo here to see what it says about you, then make a clean copy.
Where the hidden details survive
Some apps strip location when you post. Many ways of sending a photo keep the original file, with everything inside it.
Turn it off at the source
When sharing a photo, tap Options at the top of the share screen and switch off Location. To stop saving it at all: Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services › Camera › Never.
Open your camera app's settings and turn off location tags (often called "Save location"). In Google Photos, turn on "Remove geo location" for items you share by link.
Cropping doesn't always remove the original: some files keep a small preview of the uncropped photo. Screenshots don't carry location, but the status bar can still show the time, your network and your battery.
