UAE Holiday Planner

Put a leave day or two next to a public holiday and a weekend, and a short break becomes a proper trip. Guess how far a few leave days can go, then plan your own year.

Plan your own breaks

Tell it how many leave days you have and your weekend. It finds the plan that gives you the most days off.

Your best breaks

    Public holidays

Islamic holidays follow the moon. Dates marked "estimate" can shift by a day or two once the crescent is sighted, and the Cabinet can move some holidays to the start or end of the week. Check the official announcement before you book flights.

      How the bridge works

A holiday on a Thursday is nice. A holiday on a Thursday plus one leave day on Friday is a four-day trip.

      Fill the gaps

Look for working days stuck between a holiday and a weekend. Each one you take off joins two rest periods into one long break.

      Watch the moon

Eid al-Fitr, Arafat Day, Eid al-Adha, the Hijri New Year and the Prophet's Birthday follow the Hijri calendar. Their dates are confirmed close to the day, after the crescent is sighted.

      Holidays can move

Under the current Cabinet decision, holidays other than the two Eids can be moved to the start or end of the week. In 2026 the Hijri New Year moved to a Monday and the Prophet's Birthday to a Friday.

      Know your leave

Under the UAE Labour Law, full-time private sector workers get 30 days of paid annual leave a year after their first year, and 2 days a month after six months. Agree dates with your employer early.
