Jarreb! · Privacy

Privacy, in plain words

Jarreb! is built so you can learn without giving anything away. Here is exactly what stays with you, and the few things that reach us.

The short version

Stays on your device

Everything you type, paste, record or upload inside an experiment is processed by your browser and is not sent to us. Your progress, language, text size and theme are saved in your browser's own storage. You can wipe them any time by clearing this site's data in your browser. If you tap «Save to continue later» on a tool, what you typed is kept on this phone until you continue or tap Forget.

Anonymous counts

When you answer a question (for example “what would you do?”), we add one to that answer's total so everyone can see how others answered. We also count how many times each experiment was tried and loved. We store only the question, the answer and the total. Your device remembers that you already answered, so you are counted once. Your first guess in each experiment is counted the same way, as a range (for example “20–25°C hotter”), so the What we get wrong page can show how far guesses are from reality.

What you choose to send us

Live data and outside services

Some experiments fetch live data: weather, UV and sea data from Open-Meteo, and earthquakes from the US Geological Survey. If you tap “my location”, your rough coordinates are sent to that service to get local data, and never to us. The “What does your IP reveal?” page asks our server what any website can see about your connection, shows it to you, and stores nothing; its network check talks to a public Google STUN server. Fonts are served from this site, not from Google. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes every request and may keep short security logs. To stop spam, Cloudflare briefly checks how often one connection sends messages; we don't store this.

Deleting and questions

To delete a message or idea you sent, or to ask anything about your data, tell us roughly what you sent and when.
