Pregnancy and due date calculator
Pick how you want to count: last period, conception, IVF transfer or an ultrasound. See your due date, this week of pregnancy, the usual check-ups and vaccines by week, and your UAE maternity leave dates.
28 if you're not sure. A longer cycle moves the due date later by the extra days (21 to 45).
Usually only known after fertility treatment or tracking ovulation.
Type the age the report gave, e.g. 12 weeks 3 days. An early scan is the most accurate way to date a pregnancy.

Maternity leave dates
For the pay on each part of the leave (and sick or annual leave), use the leave pay calculator.
A due date is an estimate: most babies arrive in the weeks around it, not on the day. Your doctor or midwife may change your dates after a scan, and the tests and vaccines you need depend on you. If you have bleeding, strong pain, fluid leaking, a bad headache with blurred vision, or your baby moves less, call your doctor or go to the hospital now. In an emergency call 998.
How the due date is worked out
Doctors add 280 days (40 weeks) to the first day of the last period (Naegele's rule, used by ACOG). It assumes a 28-day cycle, so this tool adds or takes away the difference for longer or shorter cycles.
Conception is about 2 weeks after the period starts, so the due date is 266 days after it. For IVF, ACOG counts 263 days from a day-3 transfer and 261 days from a day-5 transfer.
The scan gives an age in weeks and days. Count back to day 0 and add 280 days. A first-trimester scan is the most accurate, and doctors usually change the period date to the scan date when they differ by more than about a week.
Weeks count from the first day of the last period, so you are "4 weeks pregnant" about 2 weeks after conception. First trimester: up to the end of week 13; second: weeks 14 to 27; third: week 28 to birth. Full term is 39 weeks to 40 weeks 6 days.
Sources, last checked: 27 October 2026. Due date: American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), Committee Opinion No. 700, "Methods for Estimating the Due Date" (2017, with AIUM and SMFM): 280 days from the last period; IVF 263 days from a day-3 and 261 days from a day-5 embryo transfer; first-trimester ultrasound is the most accurate. Term: ACOG Committee Opinion No. 579, "Definition of Term Pregnancy" (early term 37–38 weeks, full term 39 weeks to 40 weeks 6 days, late term 41 weeks, post-term 42 weeks). Check-ups: World Health Organization, recommendations on antenatal care (2016): at least 8 contacts, the first within 12 weeks, then at 20, 26, 30, 34, 36, 38 and 40 weeks, and one ultrasound before 24 weeks. Tests: US National Institutes of Health (NICHD), "What tests might I need during pregnancy?" (first-trimester screening with nuchal translucency at 11–14 weeks, ultrasound at 18–20 weeks, glucose screening usually at 24–28 weeks); ACOG Committee Opinion No. 797 (group B strep screening at 36 weeks 0 days to 37 weeks 6 days). Vaccines: ACOG 2026 Maternal Immunization Schedule (Tdap at 27–36 weeks in every pregnancy; flu at any stage in the flu season; RSV vaccine at 32 weeks 0 days to 36 weeks 6 days in the RSV season, or an antibody for the baby instead; COVID-19 at any stage); UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention added the seasonal flu vaccine to the National Immunization Programme, free for pregnant women (reported by Gulf News, 15 January 2026). Whether Tdap and RSV vaccines are offered to you in the UAE: check with the authority or your doctor. Maternity leave: Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 (UAE Labour Law), Article 30, and u.ae "Maternity leave" in the private sector (60 days: 45 on full pay and 15 on half pay; may start up to 30 days before the expected delivery; up to 45 more unpaid days for illness from pregnancy or birth; nursing breaks of up to 1 hour a day for 6 months from the birth); Federal Decree-Law No. 49 of 2022 on Human Resources in the Federal Government, Articles 19 and 20, and u.ae "Maternity and paternity leave" (90 days on full pay; breastfeeding breaks of up to 2 hours a day; parental leave of 5 working days within 6 months of the birth). The law does not say when federal leave may start before the birth, so this page counts it from the due date: check with your HR. A Federal National Council recommendation (January 2026) to extend government maternity leave to 98 days had not become law when checked. Local governments, free zones (such as DIFC and ADGM) and some contracts have their own rules. Not medical or legal advice.
