Percentage traps in shops
30% off, then an extra 20% off, takes 20% off the already reduced price. You pay 70% × 80% = 56%, so the total saving is 44%, not 50%.
"Up to" means at least one item has that discount. Most items may have much less. Check the price of the thing you actually want.
That is 33% off each item, but only if you need all three. If you would only use one, you have spent twice as much.
A price that rises 25% and then falls 25% ends lower than it started: 100 → 125 → 93.75. To undo a 25% rise you need a 20% cut.
