Chat link maker
Message a number without saving it as a contact. Type the number and an optional message, then open the chat, copy the link or show it as a QR code.
Any form works: 050 123 4567, +971 50 123 4567, 00971501234567 or Arabic digits. The country code is used only for numbers written without one.
It is typed into the chat for you. Nothing is sent until you press send in the app.
Runs on your phone. Nothing is uploaded or saved. The number only leaves this page when you open a link, which hands it to your chat or SMS app.
Never send your Emirates ID, passport, bank card, PIN or any one-time code to a number you do not know, even if they say they are a bank, a courier or the police. Not sure who it is? Check what kind of number it is, and test their message for scam tricks.
How these links work
It has the form https://wa.me/ then the full international number with digits only: no plus sign, no 00, no leading 0, no spaces. The message goes after ?text= with special characters encoded.
sms: then the number with a plus sign, and ?body= for the message. It opens your phone's normal messages app. Standard SMS charges may apply.
Chat apps and SMS work with mobile numbers. In the UAE these start with 05 (or +971 5) and have 9 digits after +971. Landlines and 800 numbers cannot receive them.
The chat link only works if the number has an account on that chat app. If not, the app will tell you, and SMS is the fallback.
