The main rules
Paid monthly in UAE dirhams, within 10 days of the due date, as agreed in the contract, with a written receipt or another method the Ministry sets (Art. 15). Five domestic professions must be paid through the Wage Protection System; for the others it is optional (Ministerial Resolution No. 675 of 2022).
One paid rest day a week, on a day agreed between worker and employer. Work on that day only with another day off or extra pay in return (Executive Regulations, Art. 8).
At least 12 hours of rest a day, including at least 8 hours in a row (Art. 9 of the law; Art. 7 of the regulations).
At least 30 days of paid leave for each year of service; two days a month for service over six months and under a year. The employer pays a return ticket home once every two years. Unused leave days are paid in cash when the contract ends (Art. 10).
Up to 30 days a year with a report from an approved health authority. The first 15 days are on full pay and the rest on half pay (Art. 10). Check the exact split with the authority.
Probation can last up to six months (Art. 8). The law sets no fixed notice period: the contract states when it can end. Read the contract, and check with the authority (MOHRE).
The worker must be allowed to keep all their official documents. The employer provides suitable housing, meals and work clothing for full-time workers, and pays for medical care or provides health insurance (Art. 11).
The employer pays what is due within 10 days of the contract's end (Art. 19). If the employer ends the contract for a reason that is not the worker's fault, the employer also pays the costs of the trip home (Art. 20). Claims must be filed within three months of the end of work (Art. 26).

Gratuity: MOHRE confirmed in November 2022 (as reported by Emarat Al Youm) a gratuity of 14 days' salary for each year of service after one year; the ILO's May 2024 brief notes the Cabinet rules for calculating it had not yet been published. The estimate here uses 14 days of basic salary per year, counted in part for part years: check with the authority and MOHRE's official domestic worker calculator.
