Car maintenance by mileage
Type the kilometres on your car and see what is due now, what is coming soon and what to check every month. Intervals vary by car: your owner's manual always wins.
Often on a sticker inside the windscreen or on the service invoice.
The last 4 digits after "DOT" on the tyre's side wall: week then year. 2321 means week 23 of 2021.

Why the UAE is "hard use"
Most owner's manuals list a normal schedule and a shorter one for severe conditions: heat, dust, stop-and-go traffic, long idling, short trips and towing. A lot of everyday UAE driving fits the severe list.
Heat speeds up battery wear. In UAE summers, get a battery older than two years tested before the hot months: many garages do it for free.
Dubai's roads authority has reminded drivers that tyres more than five years past their manufacture date are not allowed on UAE roads, and cars with them fail the vehicle test. Check pressure in the morning, before heat raises the reading.
If the car is under warranty, follow the dealer's service schedule exactly and keep the invoices. This tool is a reminder, not a replacement for it.
Sources: general intervals from a US motoring association's car-care guide (AAA, "10 car maintenance tips"): oil every 5,000 to 7,500 miles (about 8,000 to 12,000 km), tyre rotation every 5,000 to 8,000 miles, engine air filter checked at each oil change or about every 7,500 miles, cabin filter every 15,000 to 30,000 miles, brakes checked every 12,000 to 15,000 miles or at each tyre rotation, battery tested twice a year and lasting about 3 to 5 years; Auto Care Association bulletin on severe versus normal service (severe service: oil and filter about every 5,000 km; heat, dust, stop-and-go and short trips count as severe); Gulf News, "Eight essential mid-summer car checks" (2025: test batteries older than two years, check tyre pressure in the morning, consider a coolant flush on cars over three years old); Gulf News, 6 October 2020, quoting Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (tyres more than five years from manufacture are not allowed on UAE roads). Kilometre figures are rounded conversions. Intervals vary by car, engine and oil type: your owner's manual and your dealer's schedule always come first. This is a reminder tool, not a mechanic's inspection.
